BECO LED BEROM NATION ON COURTESY VISIT TO GOVERNOR CALEB M. MUTFWANG

The Berom nation under the umbrella of Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation (BECO) with a high powered delegation were in the Government house little Rayfield this morning, on a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State. Leader of the delegation and BECO President worldwide, Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop, informed their host that the delegation was in the Governor’s office, to congratulate him over the victories he recorded at the polls, election tribunal and courts. These victories, according to the leader of the delegation, could only be possible through divine intervention. The visitors also appreciated the governor for the opportunity to visit him alongside Berom sons and daughters. Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop thanked His Excellency for the demonstration of goodwill in appointing many Berom sons and daughters in his government, as a worthy gesture that the Berom nation will not take for granted.

Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop saluted governor Mutfwang’s developmental strides, particularly on road maintenance and urban renewal, security, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

He also drew attention of government to the perennial and worsening problem of youth unemployment in the state and the nation as a whole, as well as touching on the menace of illegal mining, illicit drug intake and drunkenness, that are gradually wasting away our vibrant youth population. He appealed to the governor to do something urgent to address the menace.
Revamping of the primary health care sector/health awareness, especially on the incidence of diseases and infections like hepatitis, be looked into, because of the way they are ravaging our rural communities.
The BECO President worldwide, also highlighted on the bastardization of Berom traditional structure by the past administration and thanked the governor for taking the right steps to address the anomalies.

In his response, governor Caleb Mutfwang welcomed the delegation. He appreciated the Berom nation for the unwavering support and solidarity during the last elections. According to the governor, the transformation of Berom nation which hosts the seat of government is synonymous to transforming Plateau State. He therefore solicited for more support for his government for the realzation of greater Plateau State of our dreams.

Barr Caleb Mutfwang spoke extensively on his plans to revamp the mining sector, and appealed for cooperation when measures will be released by government for a better and modern mining approach. The governor promised to carry BECO along in the next phase of fertilizer distribution, as well as on other critical issues of community development and mobilization, so as to achieve government’s objective for the state and our people.

The Governor urged the Berom nation to remain steadfast despite the security challenges that have ravaged most parts of Berom land, emphasising that efforts were being employed to tame the menace.

As a mark of honour, Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop decorated the governor with Berom traditional attire.
