Following the demise of Nigeria’s longest serving monarch, the Dagwom Rwey Jos South and district head of Gyel, HRH Da Nga Dangyang who passed in the early hours of Tuesday, 16th July, 2026, the Berom nation under the umbrella “Berom organizations” paid a condolence visit at the palace of Jos South traditional council. the visit was led by Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop, BECO president worldwide in company of Ngo Abigail Banga, BEWDA President as well as Barr Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, BYM President with their respective members of executives.

Speaking on the legacies of late monarch, Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop eulogised Da Nga Dangyang, describing him as a colossus and encyclopaedia of Berom history, he recall his moments with the late king which he said were memorable and exciting. “Dara was a great historian that must be emulated”.

He also deacribed Dara as a great unifier who embraced everyone from far and near, not minding their lineage. Da Dudu said the loss is great to the Berom nation, Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

Considering the magnitude of the late monarch legacies and endowment, Da Gyang Dudu made an appeal to relevant authorities to immortalize the late king so that his name can live on.

BECO President, told the family and the traditional council that the whole Berom nation mourns with them at this moment of grief, he appreciated the authors who have written a book in honour of the late monarch. Da Dudu prayed for the family for God to comfort them.

Also eulogizing the late monarch, Ngo Abigail Banga, BEWDA President described Da Dangyang as an embodiment of history who has record of times and events in the land, she recount her experience with the monarch which she described as rich and beneficial to the younger generation. Ngo Banga admonished the family members to accept the loss good faith and assure them that God will strengthen everyone of them.

Barr Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, BYM President also described the late Dagwom Rwey as a father, a hero and enigma who lived his entire life for the service of humanity, Barr Mwantiri expressed his dismay for missing the opportunity to receive parting blessing from the momarch when he called on him prior to his demise. He also recount how the late monarch was supportive to him at all times.

Responding on behalf of the family, son of the deceased, Da Dangyang Nga Damgyang appreciated the Berom nation for standing with the family always, he said his late father was a man of peace who stood his ground as a panacea in ensuring its propagation.
Dangyang said his father was a strong pillar who symbolizes truth, justice and development, he ensured Berom organizations function optimally as organs of the traditional council.
