The Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO) notes that the deepening/worsening regime of terrorism in Nigeria, inaugurated by the Fulani ethnic minority tribe of the country, has left many observers in a state of shock. The bloodshed has unwittingly unbundled a hitherto unknown reservoir of native intelligence of the Fulani tribe, thus unmasked an abundant latent talent of unspeakable dexterity in evil machinations inherent in the silent culture of this seemingly quiet and peaceful tribe. Simply put, the mindless killings of innocent and defenseless villagers in Plateau, Benue, Southern Kaduna, Taraba and elsewhere, across Nigeria has unwittingly exposed the chilling bestialities and devilish ingenuity, a true state of anomie, of the Fulani. It is a known fact today that the average Fulani man resides not a distance away from the animalistic phase of civilization.

The world is today grossly unsettled at the simultaneous emergence and reckless/heartless display of a renegade group of intellectually-stunted and morally-deficient security experts/analysts, of Fulani ethnic extraction. This class of dwarfish specialists is miserably shallow in the art of decency, with a massive incriminating disdain for truth, facts and logic in clean discourse. This group is swiftly taking over the country’s electronic media space, as frontline resource persons on security matters on television stations. The group is also characterized by a ridiculous penchant for fraudulent falsification and mutilation of facts to deliberately create false narratives that give strong backing for terrorism, institutional violence and structural hatred.

As the cheap merchants of falsehood they are members of this group lie without conscience, limitation or hindrance. Another emerging group in this direction is the iconoclastic coterie of floating clergy, in league with or service of terrorism. This group is the exclusive preserve of the Fulani, whose doctrinal calling is largely, in the manufacturing of un-islamic injunctions to provide false justification for terrorism. Herein lies our reference material, Ahmad Mahmud Gumi, the undisputable perfidious jihadist propagandist. This figure is well seated and established here as an authority, and whose dysfunctional and bloodlettingy persuasion is on massive propaganda.

Discerning from the above, it is easily acceptable and conclusive that the terrorism ravaging Nigeria presently was, essentially planned and programmed and being implemented by the Fulani seamlessly, with each segment of their society playing a specific complimentary role. While the propaganda analysts, excessively use the electronic media as their base, their clerics of easy or absolutely no virtue at all and zero conscience, like Sheikh Gumi, use their religious platforms to disseminate tribal doctrines of terror, bloodshed, anarchy and warmongering. Of course, the Fulani politicians in government effectively use their offices as powerful instruments of political mobilization and manipulation of state policy direction, to provide cover and soft landing for their terrorists, hence the emergence of the rather weird ‘repentant terrorists’ philosophy, an unknown dictum in global security architecture. The Fulani political technocrats also guarantee effective administrative cover or deliberately generate a confused picture of the insecurity matrix, in the regions particularly, the Middle Belt.

In his self-appointed position of chief negotiator, supporter and motivator of the Fulani terrorists, Sheikh Mahmud Gumi, also a leading ideologue of the terror group issued one of his signature reckless comments recently, in his X platform. Among others, the Sheikh had it that ‘the Berom are terrorist arms manufacturers from Plateau state’. Ordinarily, we, in the Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO), the apex socio-cultural organization of the Berom nation, at home and in the diaspora, would not really bother much to respond to this irritating display of adult delinquency, from a deranged and morally perverted imbecile. This is because Sheikh Gumi happens to be such a unique specie that is a sign post of structural anarchy and unwavering rascality, whose comments are usually a study in callousness and fixated bigotry.

In a sane society the security agencies would have long done their work of putting Mahmud Gumi and his fighting foot soldiers in the forests behind bars, for crimes against humanity and national security. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu couldn’t have done worse than Gumi, in the context of assault on the territorial integrity and survival of the country. Unfortunately, the Nigeria of today is far off the sanity mark, to the extent that waiting for the state to do the needful on Gumi would be an exercise in total or abject futility. Hence our quick response here, which is essentially and most simply, aimed at correcting a few twisted facts or records, by setting them straight.

No doubt, at all, the Berom are naturally endowed in technical and mechanical manipulation and related endeavors, particularly in vehicular/machine repairs and maintenance. This is not a hidden fact as it is legitimate and a normal way of life. That this talent has suddenly been upgraded to the status of arms manufacturing, is some breaking news to us. We are getting to know this for the first time and, very surprisingly and strangely too, through one who hates us with a passion. It is however, shocking that we, who ought to be the chief stake owners and patent holders of the innovation, are hearing of the success story from an outsider and, worse from a source lacking in integrity, trust and reliability.

Given his established trajectory in reckless and misguided ranting, we expected nothing less from Sheikh Gumi, whose definition and conception of humanity does not extend beyond his Fulani terrorist tribe. To him the world is made of only one tribe-his heartless fighters. He has never made a single comment that rhymed with the tenets of global humanity. Recently he alleged that Middle Belt mourners bury empty coffins in order to justify the claim of Christian genocide. It is only an evil heart dripping in insanity and profanity that can imagine such an evil and inhuman perception.

That Gumi will allege that the Berom are terrorist arms manufacturers, may not be far-fetched or shocking to those who either know him or have followed his writings or comments on tik tok and other social media handles. His people are the terrorists, the only tribe in Nigeria with the expressed permission to carry deadly and dangerous weapons around, without a wink from the security agents. If in any way, Gumi is asserting that the AK 47, Rocket launchers, drones, etc, used by the Fulani terrorists are manufactured in Plateau state, by the Berom, then certainly we should applaud him for availing us with that positively surprising news. We as Berom are however, unaware of that shocking development. How can we be in the league of deadly arms manufacturers and at the same time on the receiving ends of deadly attacks, using the same arms allegedly manufactured by us?

Gumi is a special breed of Nigerian and indeed an untouchable. He makes comments that can set the nation ablaze, without any restraint from the security agents. Lucky him. If we the Berom were anywhere near his status, Rev Ezekiel Dachomo will not be under the threats and siege he lives with on a daily basis. Sheikh Gumi may have, as usual, made that stupid allegation against the Berom for one of his usual nasty jokes. Unfortunately to us, who are not known to be in the good books of the state’s instruments of coercion, that allegation is the most wicked, callous and reprehensible. We reject it in totality and hereby, call on the security agents to, for once, call Gumi to provide evidence to back his wild allegations or face the music. If the Federal Government is truly out to fight terrorism the starting point is picking the sponsors and backers of the terrorists. Sheikh Ahmad Mahmud Gumi should be the starting point.
