The brotherliness and bonding between the Berom nation and Mwaghavul nation was again reignited through the demonstration of love by the Mwaghavul nation through its apex body the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA). The MDA President Dcn. Bulus Dabit, a former Director, National Orientation Agency Plateau State led other members of his executives to BECO secretariat on a condolence visit over the massacre of 27 persons at Bindi (Jebu), Tahoss village of Riyom LGA. Recall, fortnight ago, 27 persons including infants, children, women and men paid the supreme sacrifice over renewed genocidal agenda of Fulani militia.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of Berom nation, BECO Secretary General, Da Chollom Gyang appreciated the MDA executives for the solidarity and show of love, he said this geature has further cemented the long existing relationship between the two nations. Da Chollom Gyang said the MDA is among the first ethnicity to register its condolence to the Berom nation after the dastardly act.
Delivering his condolence message, the MDA president, Dcn Bulus Dabit spoke passionately on the rising insecurity in Plateau State, he condemned in strong terms the merchandise of terrorism on the innocent Plateau citizens. Dcn Dabit frown at how the media, scholars, international organizations, CSOs and other interested parties manipulate the real problem and give it a different narrative with a sustained profiling of the issue as “Farmers/Herders crisis”. He urged every well meaning individual to understand that Plateau State and by extension two third of Nigeria is under siege, as such, All hands must be on deck to tame the situation.
Describing Plateau State as a perfect manager of diversity which is grossly contrary to the negative narration some skewd personalities have sold out against Plateau State, Dcn Dabit described Plateau State as a rainbow state. He call on all Plateau citizens to rise up and fight the common enemy who is by extension an enemy of the Nigerian state.
Driving his message, Dcn Dabit comforted the Berom nation with an encouragement from the Holy Bible by reading the following scriptures,
- 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
- Psalm 91:1-16.
He prayed for a lasting peace on the Plateau and Nigeria at large.
Appreciating the delegation on behalf of the Berom nation, the vice President of BECO Da Jonathan S. Chundusu who stood in for the President thanked the MDA for the condolence, he said the visit symbolizes love, unity and solidarity, he assured MDA of collaboration in all that concerns the two nations. Da Chundusu used the opportunity to send in BECO’s regards to the Mishkagham Mwaghavul.
