The launched achieved with a symbolic kick off by the distinguished Senator representing Plateau North at the National Assembly, Sen Pam Dachung Gyang alongside the BECO President Worldwide Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop, Chairman of BESDA Mr Geoffrey Botson and other Berom illustrious sons and daughters. Speaking briefly on the importance of the initiative, Sen Dachung Gyang lauded the dream of the visioneer and called on all Berom to embrace the initiative which is aimed at showcasing the rich sport endowment in the land. The senator support the initiative with a sum of One Million Naira (1,000,000) only.

It’s important to note that this tournament will be played in four designated venues as Bukuru mini stadium , Du mini stadium, Plateau State Polytechnic play ground and GSS Riyom play ground. Sport lovers are encouraged to get ready for an entertaining display of the Berom talents.

BECO, as the mother body of Berom Organizations and operates Programmes that promote the culture and protect the heritage & identity of the Berom Nation in Plateau State, Nigeria, and globally. BESDA, a registered Non-Profit Organization in Nigeria and is seeking collaboration, guidance and partnership with BECO. This MoU seeks to grant BESDA the right to become a partner/member of BECO, with access to BECO’s Organization and partners.

Signing on behalf of BECO, Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop expressed satisfaction with the proposed blueprint which looks appealing for the advancement of sports in Berom land. He urged the organizers not to dissipate the energy but keep pushing till the dream come true.

The visioneer and president of BESDA Mr Geoffrey David Bottson reiterated his readiness and commitment to develop the sport sector of Berom nation to a new level where its refined athletes and player can compete favourably as far as sport is concerned. Mr Bottson a seasoned sport agent and scout who has earned for himself credit in facilitating the movement of sport talents overseas said he is inviting other scouts to grace the event.

In the interim with focus on football development, preparation is in its advanced stage towards commencement of Berom district competition/soft launch which is slated for 1st March 2025. All thirteen districts of Berom nation are expected to participate in the tournament.

It will interest you to note that this upcoming tournament has the total support, partnership and blessings of Plateau Football Association (PFA). With this development, the Berom nation is yet on course to set another record as a pioneer tribe on the Plateau to showcase their prowess through sport.

At the end of the tournament, Trophy, Medals, Certificates and other prizes are up for grasp.

Guest speaker at the event, a famous Berom sensational music composer Dr Samdung Afrika spoke on the topic: “Berom Moral Values”. Samdung’s lecture centered extensively on the dangers of substance abuse, early marriage, under aged mining practices, child trafficking etc.
He emphasized on the need of advancement in education which is a panacea to societal building. Dr Samdung also motivated the students to be worthy ambassadors of Berom land in the future. He frown at how the Berom girl child is rated high in child trafficking index on the Plateau, and encouraged all relevant stakeholders to step up their campaign in mitigating the menace.

The visit also recorded presentation of learning materials from the coffers of Zere NUBES Miss Dung Sarah Chuwang as her contribution to the students to facilitate their learning. Miss Chuwang promised to do more for the school as part of her project of giving back to the society, she appreciated the proprietor and school management for the opportunity to extend her kind gesture to the school community.

Showing appreciation on behalf of the school, The Head boy and Head girl expreseed their gratitude for the visit, lecture and gifts. They prayed that God should open more doors of opportunities to the donor for many more humanitarian endeavours.

2. The group which comprised of active Berom ladies came together after Nzem Berom 2024 and was challenged by the success and outcome of the festival. The group was on a courtesy visit at BECO secretariat to seek for collaboration, guidance, mentorship and counselling to enable the group achieve her objectives.

3. Speaking through the leader, Mrs Bridget Chomo who introduced the mission and objectives of the group, said her emphasis will be on girl child education, fight against early marriage, economic empowerment, health education and advocacy against child trafficking. The group promised to collaborate with NGOs and similar organisations who share same philosophy with her.

4. The BECO President Worldwide Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop welcomed the team and assure them of maximum support towards achieving their objectives. Dara Dudu emphasized the importance of emerging groups with clear cut objectives of uplifting the society and living an enduring legacy for future generation. He was full of praise for the team for daring to distinguished themselve at this trying period of our life. The President then poured out his heartfelt wishes to the group for success in all her endeavours.

Since its inauguration,  the committee ably led by the Gwom Rwey Vwang, Da Gyang Balak has since lived up to its objective, as many donors have visited it with various form of relief materials ranging from clothing, shoes, bags, beddings, detergent etc.

Latest of such donors include Miss Chatong Pam Yusuf who of her benevolence donated a bag full of used clothes for onward delivery to the IDPs,
Also registering his name in the list of donors, Mr Moses Danjuma Bot from Foron donated two bags of used clothes for the IDPs.
Receiving the items on behalf of the committee, Rex Cheng appreciated them for the gesture, he assured them that all acts of kindness to humanity is kindness to God. He prayed to God to multiply them richly.

It’s important to emphasize the untold trauma our IDPs have experienced in the wake of the 21st century terrorism which has ravaged our communities with severe impact on Gwol and Riyom LGAs. Much has been donated as relief materials, but much is needed in the area of ressetlement which is our primary goal now. I therefore want to use this medium to call on Berom sons and daughters,  home and in diaspora to consider this need with utmost concern.

Let me thank specially all those who have already donated relief materials to this committee from its inception, the Lord bless and increase you. What is the BNNB Documentary Film Project all about?

The BNNB documentary film project is all about bringing to the fore the numerous contributions the Berom Nation – its people and land – have made and still making in the building of the nation called Nigeria. This seeks to go further to bring to the fore significant contributions of other ethnic groups or personalities of other ethnic group on the Plateau to the building of the nation. All these in sum, give us a comprehensive and holistic document that posterity will depend on to foster greater passion and nationalism in her citizens.

Therefore, this project seeks to explore all the essence of a realistic society of the Berom nation – its people, culture, traditions, challenges and future ambitions/programmes to foster unity, development, growth and a stronger and enlightened people. Also, in the environment where the Berom nation finds itself, to identify and bring to light her numerous contributions to nation building of Nigeria.

However, the objectives of this project are not far-fetched from the above-mentioned objectives of a documentary film. But to be concise and connect to the essence of the project, we shall state thus;

1. To reveal to the world the realities of the Berom man and woman,
2. To inspire and restore hope to the Berom nation and the larger society a greater Nigeria of our dream,

The President made a passionate appeal to all Berom sons and daughters to intervene in any way possible such as fencing, provision of school bus, welfare for staff etc.

Da Gyang dudu Dalyop appreciates the effort Engr. Sam Chundusu who is currently handling the electrification of school community. He said this and many more interventions will go a long way in alleviating the plight of the school.

The President made a call to all those made promises in one way or the other to kindly endeavour to fulfil those promises.

In his response, the school acting principal expressed his gratitude to BECO leadership led by Da Gyang dudu Dalyop and all those who have contributed in various ways towards giving the school a facelift. He told the President that significant improvement in school enrolment has been achieved as a result of new developments in the school. He specifically noted that the students number has risen from 136 to 251 within the short period.

Also speaking on the need for a holistic approach, some members on the entourage of the President challenged the entire Berom sons and daughters especially the political class to have a consideration of the school in their plans for the land.

Recall that in May, 2021 there was an attack by unknown gunmen who killed seven people including children.

The Jos North BECO Chairman Davou Dung Nyam alongside his committee told the Dagwom that they came to sympathize with him over the unfortunate incident that took place in his chiefdom.

There was also a cash donation to the Dagwom and the Chief of the Irigwe people from the Jos North BECO committee.

The Dagwom of Dong village Da Daniel Choji, appreciated the Jos North BECO who took out time to condole with them in their moment of grief.

Da Choji said God has blessed Berom people with Dong village and they need to stand up to protect their ancestral land by engaging in politics so they can have a voice to speak out for their people. He further said that peace is priceless and he encouraged all Berom people to live in peace with their neighbour’s.

In the same vein, chief Audu Abari of Irigwe people in Dong village appreciated the Jos North BECO for condoling with them saying that God will bless them for extending the hand of friendship and remembering them in their moments of grief.
