The Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation (BECO) with gratitude to God almighty greets Da Dr Jacob Gyang Buba CFR, Gbong Gwom Jos, President Jos Joint Traditional Council and, Chairman Plateau state Council of Chiefs and Emirs, our Grand Patron on the occasion of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ. We also felicitate with our be Gwom, leadership of the BEWDA, BYM, District Development Associations and all those in leadership positions in the land.
- As a blessed people whose God is the God of the universe, Christmas is a uniquely significant moment for us. We are grateful to God that this year we are marking the occasion in a less tensed and fairly peaceful atmosphere. We note with appreciation the gradual reduction in the rate of attacks, since the assumption of office of the current Commander of the OPSH. We remain greatly indebted to our be Suga who have selflessly sacrificed for the land, sometimes at very exorbitant costs. It’s necessary that we call on the Commander to sift his troops and flush out sell – outs in the midst, whose sinister complicity with the terrorists has remained a major drawback to the heroic task of peacekeeping on the Plateau.
- While people go about celebrating they must be at alert and security conscious, by avoiding night celebrations or movements. We are not yet out of the woods. Our killers have demonstrated a massive capacity for surprised guerilla attacks on unsuspecting crowds and at very unexpected moments. We must be vigilant.
BECO wishes our people a merry Christmas and a very prosperous, peaceful and glorious New Year. God bless our land, people and our state.
Chollom Gyang.
Secretary General.
